Depending on where you live, a haircut can set you back $10 to $90. And that doesn’t include the tip. A lot goes into that range including the stylists’ experience, type of salon, local cost of living and state of your hair. The more you want done, say color or braids, the more it costs.

Several national hair salon chains offer senior discounts. They aren’t huge, but they do give you some dollars off. Use this along with a coupon and you can save further. Hair salons may offer coupons through a number of sources: local flyers, email lists, the salon’s app and on social media. Remember to ask for the senior discount if you frequent any of these five hair salon chains: ​

Deal: $2 off regular haircut ​

Many of the Cost Cutter salons give older adults $2 off haircuts. Senior haircuts are $12 at the hair salon chain. With the discount, it’s $10. The deal varies by location, so ask your stylist next time you’re in the salon.
